Adding your giving widget to a website

First, we'll tackle the first few steps to get your "give crypto" button onto your website.

Step 1

Navigate to the "Giving Widgets" tab on your dashboard.

Step 2

Click the "show button code" on your widget

Step 3

Once here, you can decide if you want to copy the URL into an existing button on your website. Alternatively, you can copy the code snippet directly. At this point, if you do not handle the website yourself, please email the URL or code snippet to the website manager. Here's a sample email you could copy and paste to them:

"Hey Team,

We have recently taken the steps necessary to accept cryptocurrency donations. I'd like to add the giving URL to a button on our website. Can you create another giving call-to-action and use this URL? {place widget-URL here}"

If you take care of the website yourself, go ahead and take action on this now. The sooner this is up, the sooner you're able to get donations!

Step 4 (premium feature)

If you are a premium subscriber, please fill out this form to customize your widget. Read this article to view a list of all the available widget customizations.

Adding Another Widget (premium feature)

Some organizations may have a need for multiple giving pages/widgets. This would be the case if there are multiple brands or organizations under the same parent organization.

Step 1

Navigate to the "Giving Widgets" tab and click "create widget."

Step 2

  1. Give the widget a name

  2. Link the correct funds. The "display name" is what the donor will see. Link that displayed name with the correct fund in the dropdown menu. If you want to create a new fund, click the "manage funds" tab and follow that process. To learn to do that, view the manage funds article.

  3. Click "submit."

Embedding You Widget On Your Own Website (premium feature)

If you use the steps above, your donors will be redirected to an Engiven-hosted giving page. Some organizations have opted to embed their widget onto their own site. You can see Compassion's example here.

If you are a Premium customer and are interested in discussing custom options like this, please see this article here.
